1. Introduction

Welcome to Call History For Any Number ("we", "our", "us"). We provide dialer and call‑log features so you can view your recent calls, see contact names, and place calls easily. This Privacy Policy explains the information we access, how we use it, and your choices. By using the app, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

Important: The app must be used lawfully and only with proper authorization. Accessing, monitoring, or attempting to view another person’s call data without consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and the platform’s policies (e.g., Android permissions and Google Play policies).

We request sensitive permissions exclusively for on‑device functionality. We do not enable covert surveillance or remote extraction of another person’s data.

3. Scope

This Policy applies to our mobile application, in‑app events, notifications, and support channels. It does not apply to your carrier services, device manufacturer services, or third‑party apps you install.

4. Definitions

  • Personal Data: Information that identifies or can reasonably identify an individual.
  • Processing: Any operation performed on Personal Data (e.g., access, storage, use, deletion).
  • Permissions: Android system rights you grant to allow features like reading call logs or contacts.

5. Permissions We Request

We ask only for permissions needed for core features. You can revoke them any time in device settings. Some features may stop working without the relevant permission.

READ_CALL_LOG

Displays your device’s call history within the app (incoming, outgoing, missed). Used for on‑device viewing only.

READ_PHONE_STATE

Detects phone state (ringing, active, ended) to improve dialer behavior and UI.

CALL_PHONE

Lets you place calls directly from the app’s dialer.

READ_CONTACTS

Shows contact names and numbers to enrich call log and dialer suggestions.

INTERNET

Used for app updates, optional analytics, crash reports, and advertisements (if enabled).

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Ensures any optional background features resume after device restart.

VIBRATE

Allows vibration feedback for calls and notifications.

6. Information We Access/Collect

Depending on your settings and device permissions, the app may access:

  • Call Log Metadata: Numbers, timestamps, call type (incoming/outgoing/missed), and duration — stored by Android on your device.
  • Contacts Metadata: Contact names and numbers for display in the UI and suggestions.
  • Device & Technical Data: Device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and diagnostics (non‑personal where possible) used to improve stability.
  • Ads/Analytics Data: If enabled, ad networks and analytics SDKs may receive non‑personal identifiers for impressions, frequency capping, and performance.

We do not read message content or record calls. The app is not a spy tool. All sensitive content stays on your device.

7. How We Use Information

  • Provide dialer features, show call history, and display contact names.
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance usability.
  • Send essential updates and notifications (e.g., version changes).
  • Measure non‑personal usage patterns to improve quality.
  • Serve ads (if applicable) compliant with platform policies.
  • Consent: For permissions, analytics, and ads where required by law.
  • Contract: To provide the features you request by installing and using the app.
  • Legitimate Interests: App security, diagnostics, and improvement balanced against your rights.
  • Legal Obligation: Compliance with applicable laws and requests from authorities.

9. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your Personal Data. We may share limited data only with:

  • Service Providers: Hosting, crash reporting, analytics, and advertising partners bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • Authorities: When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Business Transfers: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer under equivalent protections.
  • With Your Consent: For optional integrations that you explicitly enable.

10. Advertising, Analytics & SDKs

We may use SDKs for crash reporting, analytics, and monetization (e.g., Google AdMob). Where required, we present consent dialogs. You can change preferences in the app or device settings where available.

Typical Data Processed by SDKs

  • App instance identifiers (resettable).
  • Approximate location (for compliance/ads if enabled).
  • Performance and crash traces (non‑personal where possible).
  • Ad impression statistics and frequency capping.

11. Data Storage & Retention

  • On‑Device: Call logs and contacts remain on your device and follow your system’s retention.
  • Diagnostics: Crash and performance logs retained for a limited period to troubleshoot issues.
  • Accountless Operation: We do not require creating an account to use core dialer features.

12. Security

We use industry‑standard safeguards, such as encryption in transit, secure coding practices, access controls for any backend dashboards, and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure; since sensitive data stays on your device, you retain direct control.

13. International Data Transfers

If we use cloud services located in other countries for crash reports or analytics, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) where legally required.

14. Your Rights & Choices

  • Revoke app permissions any time in system settings.
  • Opt out of analytics/ads via consent prompts or device settings (where available).
  • Request information about data processed by contacting us.

15. Regional Notices

GDPR / UK GDPR

If you are in the EEA/UK, you have rights to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal bases include Consent, Contract, Legitimate Interests, and Legal Obligation. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA / CPRA (California)

We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising. California residents may request access, deletion, and correction, and may limit use of sensitive personal information.

India — DPDP Act, 2023

Where applicable, we act as a Data Fiduciary with duties of lawful purpose, consent, transparency, accuracy, reasonable security safeguards, and grievance redressal.

16. Children’s Privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13 (or older where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to delete it.

17. Controls & Settings Tips

Manage Permissions

Android ▸ Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Call History For Any Number ▸ Permissions. Disable any permission you do not want to grant.

Clear Call Log

Your device’s Phone app usually provides an option to clear call logs. Doing so will also affect what our app can show.

Ads Preferences

Adjust ad personalization in your Google account or within our consent dialog if presented.

Crash Reports

You may opt out where the OS or our settings allow. Note this may reduce our ability to troubleshoot issues.

18. Data Breach Notification

If we learn of a security breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and/or authorities as required by law. Given that sensitive data remains on‑device, the risk surface is reduced.

19. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will continue to protect your data and provide notice of any changes to this Policy or your choices.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be highlighted in‑app and reflected by the “Effective Date”. Continued use of the app means you accept the revised Policy.
